«The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.» 1 Kings 17:14
The kings who reigned after Jeroboam only displeased God.
During the reign of the wicked Ahab, a prophet named Elijah warned him that for three years there would be a great drought. The vegetation dried up and the animals began to die of thirst and hunger.
The prophet Elijah fled from King Ahab, who blamed him for the drought and did not accept it was caused by his own disobedience to God.
One day, Elijah found a widow gathering sticks to light a fire and asked her for some bread. Poor widow! She only had a handful of flour and a little bit of oil to make the last bread for herself and her son. Then they would starve to death. Elijah told her to bake for him first, because God would sustain her until it rained again. And God did! Imagine the joy of the widow!
Let’s practice!
Draw the delicious bread that the widow baked for prophet Elijah.
