«In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.» Genesis 1:1
Have you ever stopped to think about how everything around us began? The Bible tells us that in the beginning, God created. God created. He created everything. God spoke, and the stars, the planets, the plants and the animals appeared. Cool, isn't it? But when it was time to create man, God did something special: He molded us with His own hands from clay. This shows us that we are the masterpiece of God's creation!
This means that each of us is incredibly special and unique to God. He has given us skills, dreams and a unique purpose. We are more than just part of creation: we are sons and daughters loved by God.
The first chapter of the Bible already tells us where we came from. This gives us confidence that God can take care of our future life as well. If God is all-powerful to create an entire universe, He is also all-powerful to continue to take care of us and to all of His children!
Take Action
Let's explore the days of creation in a fun way! Read Genesis, and for each day of creation, find an object in your home that represents what God created that day. For example, use a lantern for the day when He created light, a plant for the day He created plants, and an animal toy for the day God created animals. Then, tell the story of creation with those objects!
