NOAH'S ARK AND THE PROMISE

«Then the Lord said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation… And Noah did according to all that the Lord commanded him. » Genesis 7: 1,5

A long time ago, about 1,400 years after God created the world, people began to act in ways that made God very sad. They became selfish, mean, envious, and quarrelsome. Seeing all this, God decided to do something to change the situation. The Lord spoke to Noah, a good and righteous man, and gave him a special task: to build a great ark.

Noah worked on the ark for 120 years, and during all that time, the people around him didn't understand what he was doing, and didn't want to help. But Noah did everything as the Lord had commanded him. When the ark was ready, the animals entered it in pairs, and then it began to rain. It rained for 40 days and 40 nights, and water covered everything. But Noah, his family and all the animals were safe inside the ark.

When it finally stopped raining and the earth dried up, God placed a beautiful rainbow in the sky. This rainbow was a sign of God's promise: He would never again send a flood to cover the whole earth. This is also a symbol that reminds us that God always keeps His promises. When we see a rainbow, we can remember that God is faithful and true. The Bible is full of promises that God will always take care of us. Just as He cared for Noah, his family and all the animals, He also wants to take care of you and your family.

Take Action

Make a very nice drawing of the rainbow and stick it on your window. Be careful! Whenever you look at it, remember God's promises and how He cares for us.
