ABRAHAM, THE FATHER OF THE NATIONS

«The Lord had said to Abram: ‘Get out of from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you.» Genesis 12:1

About one hundred years after the flood, people scattered across the Earth, moving away from the area where the tower of Babel once stood. In Ur of the Chaldeans there lived a kind man named Abram, later known as Abraham. He was married to Sarai, but they were unable to have children. Then, when they least expected it, God spoke to Abram: “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation.” Abram accepted God’s command without hesitation or doubt. God would fulfill His promise, but not at the time the couple imagined...

Often, we do not understand God’s plans, but we need to trust that His will is always better than ours. It is like being on an adventure where every step, every challenge, sets us up for something great in the end. Even without knowing all the details of the path, we know that the reward will be worth it. So it is in our lives too! What we need to do is accept the divine call and trust that His plan will be better than ours, just as it was in Abraham’s life.

Create a comic book about your family! Use paper and pens to draw a comic about your family’s life, including special moments and challenges. In the end, imagine and draw a happy ending that you believe God has prepared for you. Just like the story of Abraham, remember that God has wonderful plans for your family.
