Did you know that music is one of the most amazing things God has given us? It's so special that in 1 Chronicles 25 we see how God dedicated people especially to care for the music ministry in the temple. That's right! There was a team of musicians, the Levites, chosen to praise God with their voices and instruments. But you might be wondering, why is music so important?
First, music has the power to change how we feel. Are you sad? A cheerful song can make you dance like no one is watching! Are you happy? A song of gratitude can make you feel even closer to God.
What's more, studies show that music can even help cure diseases! It has a special way of calming our heart and mind, helping our body recover faster. Amazing, isn't it? That is why there is a saying: “He who sings, his evils frightens!”
Take Action
How about a musical challenge? Choose a simple musical instrument, such as the flute, and commit to learning to play at least one song during the year. Start with something simple, maybe a song that you really enjoy and that has meaning to you. It would be wonderful if you participated in the worship ministry of your church, like a true Levite!
