«And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.» 2 Chronicles 20: 20
In 2 Chronicles 20:20, we find a very important truth: God used people, human beings, just like you and me, to communicate with us. These people are known as prophets. The prophets were chosen to convey divine messages and guidance to us. Today's verse tells us something special: “Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” What an incredible promise, isn't it? This means that we can often achieve greater success in our lives by listening to and following what God's chosen prophets have told us.
For us, as Adventists, this message is even more meaningful. We believe that Ellen G. White was a prophetess used by God in our time. She has written hundreds of pieces of advice in virtually every area of life. As we read and apply what she wrote, we can see the promise of this verse come true in our lives: “Believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.”
Take Action
Arrange with your parent to read together some passages from Ellen G. White's books. Choose a special time, such as the sunset service, for this reading. As you listen to the text, think about how it can help you in your daily life and how it can bring success and blessings into your life. But don't just read it, try to put it into practice.
