«Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king's house, more than all the Jews….For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?» Esther 4: 13,14
If you like fairytales, you will definitely love today's story. It is about Esther. Her story is like a fairytale, but it's real and impressive! She was an orphan girl who became a queen. Talk about transformations! But Esther's life was not a “bed of roses.” She faced a great challenge when an enemy of the people of Israel, Haman, plotted to destroy them. Esther then had to make a difficult choice: risk her own life to save her people, or remain safe but silent. So her uncle Mordecai visited her and asked her an unsettling question: “Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
Esther chose to be courageous. She spoke to the king and got him to issue a new decree to protect the people of Israel. Her courage saved many lives! What about us? Do we have the same courage to tell others that we are part of God's people? Have we spoken of Jesus to others? If Esther hadn't spoken, people wouldn't have been saved! Today, follow Esther's example: share your faith and demonstrate your trust in our God!
