REBEKAH'S CHOICE

«Now let it be that the young woman to whom I say, ‘Please let down your pitcher that I may drink,’ and she says, ‘Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink’—let her be the one You have appointed for Your servant Isaac. And by this I will know that You have shown kindness to my master.” » Genesis 24: 14

Long ago, Abraham wanted his son Isaac to marry someone who was special and from his own people. He asked his trusted servant to travel to his homeland to find the perfect wife for Isaac. Just imagine what an adventure and what a responsibility: traveling through deserts and distant lands in search of love for your boss's son, Isaac!

Arriving there, the servant said a prayer, asking for a sign to find the ideal wife. He thought, “The first girl who offers me water, and also for my camels, will be chosen.” And didn't Rebecca appear? She was kind and gave water to the servant and the camels. That was exactly the sign he had asked for!

Rebekah, with a brave heart, agreed to marry Isaac, even though she didn't know him, and traveled to a new land. When Isaac and Rebekah met, it was love at first sight. Isaac was charmed by Rebekah, and she became a very important part of his family. And all this only happened because Rebekah did something simple: she offered water. But that action had a big impact on her life and changed history. She had no idea what would happen after this act of kindness. This reminds us that our actions, even the smallest ones, can have big effects. May it encourage us to do good today, even in small things, because we never know how much we can change the world!

Take Action

Why don’t you make a gesture of kindness today? It could be offering someone a glass of water, helping a friend, or even sharing a snack. See how small actions can make a big difference!
