«You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, to the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.» Psalm 30: 11,12
Have you ever gone to bed upset because you had a fight with a friend or because your parents said “no” to something you really wanted? Sometimes we may go to bed with a heavy heart because of a bad grade in school or an argument with a sibling. But Psalm 30 has a message that gives us hope: “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” This means that even if we have problems, God promises us that joy will come with the new day.
God understands every tear and every worry we have. He is working on our behalf, even when we are asleep, to bring us solutions and hope. When the sun rises, it is as if God gives us a fresh start, a new opportunity to be happy and see things in a more positive way.
Remember that this day is a great gift from Heaven to you. What happened yesterday is past. Let God help you get through the sad nights and bring you the joy of this new day. Just as the sun lit up the sky this morning, God wants to brighten your life with hope and happiness.
Take Action
How about sharing today’s message with someone special? Grab a piece of paper and write Psalm 30:5: “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Make decorations around this verse with drawings that represent joy and hope. Then give this paper to someone special to share the message that, with God, each new day brings joy.
