«Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!» Psalm 34:8
Most people like to have new experiences. Trying new foods, for example. Have you ever tried something new and found that it was actually good? Sometimes we may be hesitant to try something new, but when we finally do it, we wonder why we didn’t try it sooner. In Psalm 34, we are invited to “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!” Tasting is like experiencing a new flavor, but in our spiritual life.
Knowing God is like discovering a world of new experiences and joys. Life takes on a new color, or since we are talking about food, a new flavor. When we trust God and ask for His help, we begin to realize how He enriches our lives. He helps us overcome fears, gives us strength in difficult times, and guides us when we are confused. Having God in our life is like adding an amazing new flavor to our daily routine.
Take Action
Choose something you would like to ask God for or a challenge you are facing. It could be something you have never tried before, such as participating in a new church activity or helping someone in a different way. Pray about it every day for a week and notice how God works in your life. At the end of the week, reflect on what this new experience with God was like and how He added something special to your life.
