«I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.» Psalm 40: 1
There is a phrase that unfortunately some adults say: “I feel that my prayer does not go further up than the ceiling.” They say this because they feel that their prayers are not being heard. But is that true? Do you ever feel like your prayers aren't being heard? In Psalm 40:1 to 3, we learn that our prayers always reach God, and more! He always hears our prayers. The big question is that He can answer in different ways: with a “yes”, a “no”, or even asking us to wait a while. The key is to be patient, for God's timing is different from ours: “I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry.”
The important thing to remember is that God is always attentive to what we say. God always listens to us. But the way we cry out to Him is what makes all the difference. Crying out is not just asking; it is to insist, to not give up seeking the divine answer. It's having faith that, even if the answer takes a long time, it will come at the right time. It is a waiting that does not become passive. We do our part, trusting that He will act!
