«Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? » Psalm 139: 7
It is estimated that there are thousands of bunkers around the world, which are places built for protection in times of war or disasters. These refuges store food and are designed to be safe and hidden places where people can take shelter and hide for a long time. But even in the most hidden place in the world, there is Someone who can always find us: God. In Psalm 139 we read a question that portrays this: “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?”
In this psalm, we discover that God knows every detail of our lives. He knows where we are, what we do and even what we're going to say before we speak. But don't see it as something negative. God is not watching us with a clipboard in His hand to write down our mistakes; He is always with us because He cares and wants to be a part of our daily lives. From our routine. He understands our thoughts, dreams and fears. He sees you. He knows you! Better than you can imagine: “You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off.”
No matter where we are, whether high in the heavens or in the depths of the ocean, God is there with us. If we go to the most remote place in the world, He will still be by our side. He sees us and knows us deeply.
Take Action
Play a game of “hide and seek” with your family, but with a twist: the person looking for the rest must wear a blindfold. This will show you how hard it is to find someone without being able to see. After the game, talk about how, unlike us, God always knows where we are, even when we can't see each other.
