«But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.» Isaiah 40: 31
In Isaiah 40:27 to 31, we find an incredible promise from God to those who trust in Him. This passage from the Bible tells us about the strength that God gives to the weary and the power that He gives to the weak. At times, we may feel exhausted or discouraged, as if we can't take another step. But God promises that, if we wait on Him, He will renew our strength.
The interesting thing about this verse is the order of the actions: first, it says that we are going to fly like eagles; then, to run without tiring; and, finally, to walk without tiring ourselves. It seems contrary to what we would expect, doesn't it? Usually, we start by walking, then we run, and perhaps we dream of flying. But with God, anything is possible! He reverses logic, lifts us above circumstances, gives us the speed to overcome challenges and the stamina to keep going, even when things seem difficult. He shows us that God's thoughts are not the same as ours. When we trust Him, He empowers us to do extraordinary things. Therefore, on this day may you “take flight” and draw closer to God. Up there you will have another perspective and realize that the best in God is yet to come! Trust!
Take Action
Do a physical activity with your family or friends, such as a run, a walk, or even a game that involves movement. While you are exercising, remember that, just as exercise strengthens the body, trusting in God strengthens our faith and spirit.
