«You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called from its farthest regions, and said to you, ‘You are My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away: Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’» Isaiah 41: 9,10
Do you know that feeling of being chosen last for a sports team or for a group assignment at school? It can be pretty discouraging, can’t it? But with God, it’s a completely different story. In Isaiah 41:9-10, God tells us something very special: He has chosen us! Isn’t that beautiful? But that is not all! He also tells us, “I have chosen you and have not cast you away.” This means that even if we sometimes feel left out or forgotten by others, God always has us in His heart. We are His first choice! And He chose us to be part of His family and to live a life full of purpose and love.
In addition, God promises to be with us, strengthening us, and always helping us. He assures us that we need not be afraid, because He is our God. That’s awesome! Even in the moments when we feel weak or scared, discouraged that we are not chosen, we can trust that God is on our side, for He has chosen us and still wants to give us the strength and courage to keep going, sustaining us with His faithful right hand!
Take Action
Choose a toy that you really like and think about donating it to a friend or to a child who does not have the opportunity to have many toys. By doing so, you will be practicing kindness and sharing God’s love. Remember, by choosing to bless someone, you are showing that you understand what it means to be chosen by God to do good!
