WHEN CROSSING THE WATERS

«When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.» Isaiah 43: 2

Life sometimes feels like one big adventure, full of challenges and obstacles. Imagine crossing a river or a rough sea without the help of an adult. Sounds scary, doesn't it? But in the Bible, God gives us an incredible promise: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God.”

God has already fulfilled this promise in the lives of Moses and all the people of Israel, who crossed the Red Sea; and also in the lives of Daniel's friends, who were thrown into the fiery furnace and suffered nothing. These biblical examples show that God is faithful and powerful to protect us, indifferently from the situation. And if He has already acted in the past, it gives us confidence that He will continue to act in our present and in our future.

These words of Isaiah remind us that, no matter how difficult the challenges we face, God is always there for us. In easy or difficult moments. Like a father holding his child's hand to help him cross a busy street, God is with us, guiding and protecting us.

Take Action

With the help of an adult, create a small “river” in the ground using duct tape or ropes. Try to cross it without touching the imaginary water. Play this game with and without the help of your parents, to see the difference. As you do this, remember that, just as you are trying to cross the river carefully, God is always by your side, helping you overcome life's challenges.
