«See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.» Isaiah 49: 16
Each of us is unique in God's eyes. Even though we all have two eyes, two ears and one mouth, every part of us is different and special. Our eyes have different colors, our ears have distinct shapes and even our smiles are unique. This uniqueness is what makes us special to God. For example, have you ever noticed the lines on your hands? They are unique, like a fingerprint. Every line, every brand, tells a story about who you are.
In the Bible, in Isaiah 49:15 to 18, God gives us a powerful message of love and individuality: “I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands.” That is to say, God knows us so well, so deeply, that it is as if each of us is engraved in the palms of His hands. He loves us so intensely that He never forgets us, even in the moments when we feel alone or forgotten. We are so important to Him that He made us unique and loves us just as we are. That is why we are always in His mind and in His hands.
Take Action
Grab a piece of paper and a pencil. Place your hand on the paper and outline it with the pencil. Inside the outline of your hand, write things for which you are grateful to God. It could be your family, your friends, your home, or anything else that makes you feel loved and blessed. After you write, hang that drawing in a place where you can see it every day. This will remind you that, just as you have written these things on the palm of your hand, God has also engraved you on the palms of His hands.
