«“For as the new heavens and the new earth Which I will make shall remain before Me,” says the Lord, “So shall your descendants and your name remain.» Isaiah 66: 22
Since the beginning of time, the Sabbath has been a very special day. When God created the world, He Himself rested on the seventh day and blessed it, establishing the Sabbath as a day of rest and worship. Throughout biblical history, we see that the Sabbath was kept by all the people of Israel, from the patriarchs to the prophets.
But what makes the Sabbath even more special is that Jesus, during His life on earth, also kept the Sabbath. He honored it and taught about its true importance. After Jesus' resurrection, the disciples continued to observe the Sabbath, showing that it was not just a tradition but an eternal principle.
And the Bible reveals to us something wonderful: in the New Heaven and on the New Earth, we will continue to celebrate the Sabbath! Isaiah 66:22 and 23 tells us that “from one Sabbath to another,” all mankind will gather together to worship God. Just imagine, attending a service in heaven, with angels singing and Jesus present! It will be an amazing experience, where the beauty and holiness of the Sabbath will be experienced for all eternity! By keeping the Sabbath here on this earth, we are only anticipating what we will experience in Heaven!

Ask your parents to help you create a “Sabbath briefcase.” In it, place special items to bring to church, such as books you enjoy reading (or activities), toys that are reserved only for the Sabbath and maybe even a special snack. This briefcase will be a reminder that the Sabbath is a different and special day; a preparation for the great Sabbath that we will celebrate in Heaven.
