GOD CALLS MOSES TO BE A DELIVERER

« But Moses said to God, “Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?” … So He said, “I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.” »  Exodus 3: 11, 12

What would you do if God called you on a special mission? Today's story is about Moses and an incredible encounter he had with God through a bush that burned but was not consumed. God had a very important mission for Moses: he was to deliver the people of Israel from slavery in Egypt.

But, like many of us, Moses was filled with doubts and fears. He began to make various excuses to God. “Oh, I don't know how to speak well,” “What if they don't believe me?” and even “What's your name, God? What do I say to them?” Moses tried everything to avoid this great mission. God, however, knew that Moses was the right person for the job. For every excuse Moses made, God had an answer, showing that no matter the fears or insecurities, He would be with Moses, helping him every step of the way. God even gave Moses miraculous signs to prove that He was in charge.

This story shows us that, even when we feel small or afraid, God can use us to do amazing things. He gives us courage and the tools we need. One special detail about this story is the way God introduced Himself as “I Am.” He didn't use any add-ons. Do you know why? Because God will be what you need, when you need it! So, the next time you feel like God is calling you to do something special, remember this story and take heart!

Take Action

Think of the excuses you would make if God called you to a special mission. Make a list of those excuses. Then pray and give the list to God, asking Him to help you trust Him more and have the courage to accept the challenges He puts in your path.
