«’Behold, the day! Behold, it has come! Doom has gone out; The rod has blossomed, Pride has budded.» Ezekiel 7: 10
What would you do if you knew your end was nearer than you think? Ezekiel 7:5 to 12 has a rather frightening message on this very subject: the end is near! God warns through Ezekiel that a disaster is about to happen due to injustice and the turning away of the people from His ways. But is this message, written so many centuries ago, still relevant to us today? Of course!
In the face of Ezekiel's message, we are reminded of an urgent and important truth: Jesus is coming! This reminder is not to scare us, but to motivate us to do something very special with the time we have. In a world full of fast-paced news and information, we have the chance to use technology to our advantage, to spread one of the most important news stories of all.
Just imagine: with just a few clicks, we can tell people on the other side of the world that Jesus loves each of us and that He has promised to return. We don't have to be adults or have great resources; even as children we have a voice and can use it to remind others of this wonderful promise. Using social media, videos, drawings or any form of digital communication can be our way of giving that message: the end is coming!
Take Action
Draw a picture of how you imagine Jesus' return will look like. Then write on it the title of our devotional: “The End Is Coming!” Take a picture of it and have an adult help post it on social media or send it via messaging apps to your family and friends. Share this important message in a creative, unique and special way.
