«I will take you as My people, and I will be your God. Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. » Exodus 6: 7
After the story of Joseph, who saved Egypt and his own family from famine, came a time when a new pharaoh ruled Egypt. This pharaoh did not know Joseph or the God of Israel and ended up enslaving the people of Israel for many years. But God had not forgotten His people. He protected them all those years. When we think of protection, we might picture a superhero or a bodyguard, but did you know that God is the greatest protector of all? Look at the incredible promise He made: “I will take you as My people, and I will be your God. Then you shall know that I am the Lord your God.”
Not only did God promise to protect the people of Israel, but He also showed His great power by freeing them from slavery in Egypt. He sent Moses to lead the people and performed incredible miracles to show that He was with them.
This story teaches us that God is our protector as well. He cares for us and helps us through difficult times. When we feel lonely, scared, or worried, we can remember that God is always there for us, ready to protect and guide us.
Take Action
Use cardboard or a thick paper to create a shield. Draw things that represent God's protection on it. Hang the shield in your room as a reminder that God is always watching over you. I think your room is getting more decorated with our activities, isn't it?
