«I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.» Ezekiel 36: 26
God wants to give us a very special gift: a new heart! In the Bible, in Ezekiel 36:26 to 28, God promises to take our heart of stone and give us a heart of flesh. This means that He wants to transform our hearts so that they are gentle, loving and willing to follow His ways.
Do you know what a heart of stone is? It's a heart that doesn't feel, doesn't care about others, is hard and doesn't want to change. But God doesn't want us to be like that. He wants our hearts to be like a heart of flesh, one that feels, loves, cares and is ready to learn new things.
Not only that. In today's verses, God also promises to put His Spirit in us. This is like having a superpower that helps us do good, be obedient and love those around us. With this new heart and the Spirit of God, we can truly make a difference in the world.
Take Action
To remember this promise from God, make a paper heart and write on it good things you want to do or change in your life. Stick that heart in a place you see every day, like on your bedroom door or on the refrigerator. This will help you remember that God is at work in your heart, making it kinder and more loving each day.
