PROPHETS OF THE LORD

«Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.» Amos 3: 7

God has always had a special way of communicating with people. In the Bible, God used men and women called prophets to deliver His messages. They were like God's messengers, bringing words of hope, warning and wisdom to the people.

Amos 3:7 tells us that “Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets.” This means that God shared His plans and thoughts with the prophets, who then told the people what God wanted them to know.

The prophets played a very important role. They helped people understand what God wanted of them and how they should live. At times, the messages of the prophets were warnings for the people to repent of their mistakes and return to God. Other times, they were messages of comfort and hope, especially in difficult times.

Today, we have the Bible, which was written by these God-inspired prophets. When we read the Bible, we are hearing the messages God has given them to us. It's as if God is speaking directly to us through His words.

Take Action

As Adventists, we believe that Ellen White was also used by God as a prophetess. This week, have your parents read a few pages from one of her books. As you read, think about how important this message is to us today and how you can apply it in your life.
