ON MOUNT ZION

«But on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.» Obadiah 1:17

Climbing a hill or a mountain can be an amazing experience. When we are at the top, we can see things from a different perspective. Everything seems smaller, and the problems that seemed so big down there, up here seem smaller. It is an opportunity to reflect on the greatness of God and how He is above all else.

In Obadiah 1:17, the Bible tells us that “on Mount Zion there shall be deliverance, and there shall be holi-ness.” Did you know that Mount Zion has a very special meaning in the Bible? It is not only a geographical place, but also symbolizes a place of refuge, hope, and salvation.

This verse reminds us that God has a special plan to protect and save His people. Just as Mount Zion was a safe and sacred place, God wants to be our safe haven in difficult times. God promises that there will be deliverance for those who trust in Him. This means that no matter how difficult the challenges we face, we can always find security and peace in God. He is always ready to help us, guide us, and give us the strength to overcome any obstacle.

Take Action

With adult supervision, choose a hill or mountain in your area and hike to the top. When you get there, take a moment to pray, thank God for the beauty of creation, and reflect on how great and powerful He is. From up there you will see that everything will seem smaller, this shows that with God, our big problems, in fact, are very small.
