«So Jesus said to them, “Because of your [e]unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. » Matthew 17:20
Guinness World Records is a famous book that records the world's most incredible achievements. In it, you'll find people who have trained exhaustively to do things that many considered impossible, such as Ashrita Furman, who has broken more than 600 records! But when it comes to doing the impossible, no one beats God! He is the supreme record holder for extraordinary feats.
In Matthew 17:20, Jesus teaches us a powerful lesson about faith and possibilities. He says that, if we have faith, even of the size of a mustard seed, we can move mountains. He gave this example because at that time people didn't know anything smaller than a mustard seed. Today, perhaps he would cite an atom, a quartz, or something similar. Remember, with faith in God, we can overcome enormous challenges and accomplish things that seem impossible.
In fact, what Jesus was saying was that, if we have a tiny faith, that's enough! It's not that we don't have to fight for our faith to be bigger, but that if it's as small as the tiniest particle, like a tiny seed, that's enough for God! In other words, it doesn't matter how big or small your faith is. Faith is having conviction in things we don't see; it's having fidelity, firmness and holding on to our conviction, our belief. So, to increase your faith, study the Bible more, ask God for help to obey what He asks of us and trust that, with God, there are no limits to what we can achieve, because He can do anything!
Take Action
Ask your parents to find a mustard seed, stick it on a piece of paper and make a bookmark to put in your Bible. It will be a reminder that nothing is impossible for God!
