COME, BLESSED OF MY FATHER!

«Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.» Matthew 25: 34

Have you ever wondered what it will be like when Jesus comes back? We should do that more! The Bible tells us that it will be a day of great joy for those who follow him. In Matthew 25, Jesus talks about this special moment. He will say to the righteous: “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world..”’

But what did these people do to deserve to enter the kingdom of God? Jesus explains that they fed the hungry, gave water to the thirsty, welcomed strangers, clothed the naked, cared for the sick and visited those in prison. In other words, they showed love and compassion for others, just as Jesus did.

These actions don't save anyone, but they are a demonstration that these people have really followed Jesus' teachings. I like the phrase that goes like this: “Good deeds don't bring salvation to us, but they do bring it to people!” These good deeds show that these saved people have understood what it means to love your neighbor as yourself. When we help someone, we are showing God's love.

Take Action

Choose one of the actions mentioned by Jesus and do something to help someone this week. It could be donating food, clothes, toys, or even spending time with someone who is feeling lonely. Remember, every act of kindness is a reflection of God's love.
