«Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.» Matthew 28: 19,20
All over the world, people go through different stages of education. It starts with basic education, then goes on to secondary school, others go to university and some continue to learn even more, doing a master's or doctorate. And after a doctorate, do you stop learning? It depends... There are post-doctorates, not to mention language learning and the constant updating that every professional needs to do. If you don't like school very much, I know this news may not sound very good, but learning is very important! And, as Christians, we have a learning journey that will never end. How is that?
Jesus gave us a very special mission: “Go and make disciples of all nations.” This means that we are to share God's love and teach others about Him. The main command of this text is to “make disciples.” Making disciples is like being a spiritual teacher, helping people to know more about Jesus and to grow in their faith.
To be a disciple of Jesus is to be an eternal learner. There is always something new to learn about God, His Word and how to live according to His teachings. And the amazing thing is that, as we teach others, we also learn and grow.
Take Action
Invite a friend to take part in a church activity with you, such as Sabbath school or a Bible study group. By sharing your faith, you'll be helping to make disciples and also learning more about God.
