«And when He had taken the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and the two fish He divided among them all.» Mark 6: 41
I'm sure you've heard the story of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes. But today I'd like to invite you to imagine yourself in the place of that boy. Shall we try? Imagine that you were getting ready to listen to Jesus. Your mother carefully puts five loaves of bread and two fish in your bag, for you to take something to eat. When you get there, you see a huge crowd! After all, everyone wanted to hear what Jesus had to say.
Suddenly, the disciples start moving among the people, looking for someone who has something to eat. You see one of them approach and ask if anyone has anything to share. Now what? It's your turn to decide: do you share or keep it to yourself?
Now think: what if you chose not to share? This incredible miracle story that we know today wouldn't exist! But fortunately, the boy decided to share what little he had. And because of that choice, we saw that God can multiply what they had in their hands. This incredible miracle teaches us something super important: Jesus can use the little we have and turn it into a lot! When? When we are willing to share! It doesn't matter how little it seems, what matters is what Jesus can do with what we have in our hands!
Take Action
Choose something of yours to share this week. It could be a snack, a toy, a book, or even a drawing. By sharing, you'll be acting like the boy with the loaves and fishes, giving God the chance to multiply your gesture of kindness.
