JESUS ROSE FROM THE DEAD

«But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.» Mark 16: 6

Have you ever wondered why we celebrate the beginning of each new year by counting from the birth of Jesus? Jesus wasn't just a normal person, He divided history into before and after Him. But what really makes Jesus remembered and loved by so many people to this day isn't just His birth; it's the extraordinary events that happened after His death.

In Mark 16:6, when some people went to Jesus' tomb, they met an angel who told them something surprising: “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here.” This shows us that Jesus has conquered death! His resurrection is the guarantee that death is not the end of the story for those who have accepted Him as their personal Savior!

If Jesus had only been born, lived, died and nothing more, we might not remember Him the way we do. What really sets Jesus apart and makes Him so special is that He rose from the dead. This gives us the certainty that, if we believe in Him, we too will have the opportunity to be resurrected one day and live eternally with God. He is our guarantee!

Take Action

To remember this incredible promise, draw a picture of Jesus' resurrection and what it means to you. It could be Jesus coming out of the tomb, the sun shining on a new day or even a key, symbolizing the key to eternal life. Put your drawing in a place where you can see it every day, as a reminder of the hope and promise we have because of Jesus.
