«He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much…. “No servant can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.”» Luke 16:10, 13
Faithfulness is a word that means much more than just being loyal or reliable. In the Bible, Jesus teaches us that being faithful is more about attitude than quantity. He said: “He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much.”
This means that the small choices and actions we make on a daily basis are just as important as the big decisions. For example, if you can be trusted to do a small task around the house, such as making your bed or helping to wash the dishes, this shows that you can be trusted for bigger things too. And the opposite is also true. If you're not reliable in small things or activities, how can you be reliable in big ones? Each phase in our lives prepares us for the next. That's why it's important to be faithful to the Lord at every stage of our lives, at every moment. This will prepare us to face the next stages!
Take Action
To practice faithfulness, choose a small task or responsibility that you can do every day this week. It could be something simple, like making your bed, helping with a household chore, or even taking time to read the Bible or pray. Remember, being faithful in the little is an important step towards being faithful in the much!
