«For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.» John 3: 16,17
Today's devotional is about the most well-known verse in the Bible. Just by starting the verse, you'll feel like continuing... Want to see? “For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish... But?... have eternal life.” This verse is very famous for a good reason. It sums up God's great love for us and the incredible plan He has to save humanity.
God loves each one of us in such a deep and true way that He was willing to make the greatest sacrifice possible: sending His own Son, Jesus, to die in our place. Jesus came into the world not to condemn people, but to save them. He wants everyone to have the chance to know God and receive eternal life.
God's love is so great and powerful that it can change lives. When we understand how much God loves us, we begin to see the world and people in a different way. We start to love more, forgive more and live in a way that reflects God's love. After all, those who receive so much love, such supreme love, should give, or rather, return more love.
Take Action
To help you focus more on Jesus and His great love for you, I want to challenge you to fast for a week! Relax, it won't be from food! It will be from something that you realize may be getting in the way of your relationship with God. Maybe your cell phone, your social networks, a game or a type of music. Do without it for a week and see if your relationship with Him improves. If He has given so much for you, why not “sacrifice” a week for Him?
