«I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one….They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world….Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.» John 17: 15-17
In a world full of information and different opinions, it can sometimes be difficult to know what is true. But there is one place where we can always find the truth: in the Word of God. In the Bible, we find guidance, advice and promises that have never failed, and I can tell you with great conviction: they never will!
Jesus, in His prayer recorded in John 17, asks the Father to sanctify us in the truth, and affirms that the Word of God is the truth. This means that, by reading the Bible, we are filling ourselves with truths that can transform our lives. The Bible is not just a book of ancient stories, geography, laws, prophecies or poetry, but a living guide that shows us the right Way to go.
When we read the Bible, we learn about God's love, about how to live righteously and about the hope we have in being reunited with Jesus. It teaches us right from wrong and gives us the strength to face life's challenges. That's why it's so important to read the Bible every day and let its words shape our hearts and minds.
