«But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.» Acts 1: 8
Have you ever felt lonely? Some people find comfort in solitude, while others may feel lonely even when they are surrounded by a lot of people. There are those who turn on the TV just to feel they are not alone, as if there was someone nearby. From the beginning, when God created human beings, He longed to be among us. He strolled through the Garden of Eden, enjoying the company of Adam and Eve. However, over time and because of our poor choices, we have distanced ourselves from Him.
In His infinite love, God has found a way to reconnect with us: He sent His Son, Jesus, to live among us. And after His resurrection, when Jesus returned to heaven, He left us an incredible promise, as Acts 1:8 tells us: the Holy Spirit would be with us. That means we would never be alone again! Since then, God has promised to always be close to us!
Sometimes we can forget this constant presence, just as we forget that we breathe air. But the Holy Spirit is always by our side, ready to remind us of God’s love and care. It is He who convinces us of what is wrong and gives us power and hope to get through life’s difficulties. I do not know about you, but it is great for me to know that the Spirit is here with me as I write and also with you as you read these words!
Take Action
Create a visual reminder of the presence of the Holy Spirit. It can be a drawing, a small card, or any object that means something to you. Put it in a place where you can see it every day, as a reminder that you are never alone: the Holy Spirit is always with you!
