«And it happened that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and dysentery. Paul went in to him and prayed, and he laid his hands on him and healed him.» Acts 28: 8
Paul had an adventure full of surprises with God. In Acts 28:1 to 10, after a major shipwreck scare, he and his friends ended up on an island called Malta. Something incredible happened there that showed how God does extraordinary and miraculous things to help us fulfill our mission.
During his stay in Malta, Paul came across a situation that many would have thought would be the end of him: a poisonous snake bit him. Everyone expected him to become very ill, or even worse, but guess what? Nothing happened to him! Paul was fine because God was looking after him, surprising everyone on the island. This showed that nothing bad would happen to His servant as long as he was fulfilling his divine mission.
And the miracles didn't stop there. The father of Publius, the island's leader, was ill. Paul visited him, prayed and laid his hands on him, and the man was healed. This miracle paved the way for many other sick people on the island to come to Paul and be healed too. These miracles served as a strong testimony to the power of God, touching the hearts of the inhabitants of Malta so that they would be open to hearing the Gospel. God will certainly work miracles on our journey, allowing more people around us to see His power! I believe that, do you?
