«And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who [b]preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”» Romans 10: 15
There is a common phrase in churches: “Preach the Gospel all the time. If necessary, use words.” This idea carries a partial truth. It is true that we should live by our beliefs and demonstrate our faith through actions. However, this phrase can also be a little misleading. It makes us think that just by living uprightly and honestly, we are already sharing the Gospel. But let's reflect: honesty, integrity and sincerity are admirable qualities that can be found in people of any belief, even atheists who don't believe in God! Many people try to be better, regardless of their faith.
However, living a life full of virtues is not all that God expects of us. Paul, in our reading today, encourages us to go further and use words to talk about Jesus. It may seem challenging, but the Bible assures us that the Holy Spirit will give us the right words at the right time. So, if the chance arises, speak. Share what Jesus has done in your life and in the life of your family. How can people believe in Jesus if they don't hear about Him? Today's challenge is to preach the Gospel all the time, using words!
Take Action
Choose three friends and find a special way to tell them about Jesus. It could be sharing a story from the Bible that you like, talking about how Jesus makes a difference in your life, or even inviting them to a time of prayer together. The most important thing is that you use your words to show them Jesus' love.
