«But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.» 2 Corinthians 3:18
Transformation is a powerful word that means change, becoming something new. Did you know that when we accept Jesus as our Savior, we all go through a journey of transformation? In 2 Corinthians 3:18, we find a wonderful message about transformation: “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” This means that as we look to God and understand who He is, we begin to change, becoming more like Him each day.
But how does this happen? Imagine that you are in front of a mirror. Instead of just seeing your reflection, you see how God sees you and what you can become with His help. Each time we choose to act as Jesus would, being gentle, patient, and loving, it is as if we take a little bit of God’s light and let it shine on us. But know that transforming yourself is not something that happens overnight. It is a process, a journey that we walk with the help of the Holy Spirit. Every good choice we make, every time we decide to love instead of ignoring, we are taking a step in this transformation, so that day by day, we will become more like Jesus!
Take Action
Do an experiment with a mirror. First, get a mirror a little dirty with something that can be easily cleaned afterwards. Look in the dirty mirror and think about how sometimes we do not see clearly who we are or who God wants us to be. Then, clean the mirror and look at yourself again. That is how God sees us: clean, clear, and full of potential!
