«while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.» 2 Corinthians 4: 18
The wind is a funny thing: you can't see it, but you can feel it ruffling your hair and refreshing your face. This shows us how things we can't see can be very real and important. In 2 Corinthians 4:16-18, the Bible talks about just that - the invisible things that have enormous value.
This part of the Bible teaches us that even when we're tired or things aren't going well, we shouldn't give up. Because God is doing incredible things that we can't see. It's like having a hidden treasure that you can only find with your heart.
Paul, who wrote these words, reminds us that the things we see are temporary, like toys that can break or clothes that get smaller. But the things we don't see, like God's love, faith and hope, are eternal. These are like treasures that never disappear or lose their value.
Even if sometimes things seem difficult or confusing, we can trust that God is taking care of everything. He is preparing wonderful things for us; things that will last forever, even if we don't see them now.
Take Action
Take some colored paper, scissors, a pin and a barbecue stick to make a weather vane. When you see the weather vane spinning in the wind, remember how powerful the things we don't see are, like the wind and God's love, and how they are always around us.
