«And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.» 2 Corinthians 12: 9
Often, the things we think are our greatest weaknesses can become our greatest strengths. It is like the story of a boy who was missing one of his arms and started practicing judo to de-stress. He learned a special move and was entered for a state championship. Imagine a boy like that fighting with more experienced boys with no disabilities. What would you expect? But guess what... He won! How was this possible? Well, to escape that one move that he knew, opponents would need to hold on to the arm he did not have. Thus, his adversity became his greatest advantage.
In 2 Corinthians 12:9, God says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” This means that even in our frailties and challenges, God’s grace is with us, making us strong. We do not have to be perfect or have all the answers. Sometimes it is in our greatest difficulties that we find our true strength.
God uses our weaknesses to show us how His grace and power work in amazing ways. Just like the boy in judo, we can find unique ways to overcome challenges and realize divine grace in our lives. Our weakness-es are not reasons for discouragement, but opportunities for God to show His love and power in our lives.
Take Action
This week, think of something you think is your weakness. Maybe it is something you have a tough time doing or a situation that makes you nervous. Then try to find a way to turn that weakness into strength. It could be learning something new, helping someone else with the same challenge, or simply accepting that part of you with confidence. Remember, God is with you, turning your weaknesses into strengths!
