THE MYSTERY OF GODLINESS

«And without controversy great is the [a]mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory.» 1 Timothy 3: 16

Mysteries always intrigue us, don't they? You know those stories full of riddles and secrets that need to be unraveled? Well, the Bible, our book full of surprising stories, talks about many mysteries, and one of them is especially intriguing: the mystery of godliness, mentioned in today's verse. But what exactly is godliness?

Godliness is a deep feeling of compassion; it's putting yourself in someone else's shoes and not just treating people as they deserve to be treated. It's being kind and loving, even when someone makes mistakes. In mystery movies, we often see someone who has done something wrong and, when it comes to facing the consequences, what does that person ask for? Mercy!

The Bible reveals that God has an infinite amount of mercy for us. That's the great mystery! How can God, who is so great and powerful, have so much compassion and love for us that He sent His own Son, Jesus, to save us? Jesus lived among us, teaching us about love and mercy, and then gave His life for us. This is difficult to fully understand, which is why it's called a mystery!
