«This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him…. If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us…. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself.» 2 Timothy 2:11-13
Being friends with someone who always does what you expect seems easy, right? But what about being friends with someone who sometimes disappoints you? Who betrays your trust? This is where we find an extraordinary example of friendship and faithfulness: God's friendship with us. In today's verse, we learn that, even when we are unfaithful, God remains faithful. He continues to love and accept us, despite our mistakes and shortcomings.
Sometimes we do things that we know don't please God. We may choose the wrong path, say something we shouldn't or act selfishly. And yet God, as our greatest friend, doesn't turn His back on us. He loves us unconditionally, with a love that doesn't change, no matter what we do.
God's faithfulness is proof of His immense love. He knows us completely. He knows all our struggles and joys, and He still chooses to love us. God is like a friend who never gets angry, even when we make a mess! When everyone else leaves, God is the friend who stays by our side, rain or shine. He remains faithful!
