ALL SCRIPTURE

«All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.» 2 Timothy 3:16, 17

How do you think the Bible has come down to us? Did it descend from heaven in a space capsule, or did God dictate every word? I do not know about you, but I am not a huge fan of dictation! Now, back to my first question... In today’s verse, we discover something amazing about the Bible: God inspired it! But what does that actually mean?

When we say that God inspired the Bible, it means that He spoke to the biblical authors, and they were free to use their own words, styles, and comparisons to write. It is just like I have been doing myself during all these devotionals! It is as if God is talking to us, using the voice and the way of speaking of each writer.

Thus, the Bible became a collection of books filled with stories, teachings, poems, and more. And as to-day’s verses teaches us, the Bible is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness. The Bible is God speaking with a human accent. And it is not a simple book; after all, it helps us understand how to live our best, shows us what is right and what is wrong, and teach-es us to know God Himself!

Take Action

How about sharing this amazing tool God has given us with someone who does not have it yet? You can give a Bible as a gift to a friend or family member who does not own one. It will be a special gift that can help that person learn more about God and how He wants us to live.
