«Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.» 1 Peter 5:7-9
Knowing that God cares for us is like having a superhero always by our side. 1 Peter 5:7-9 tells us a special secret: we can tell God everything, even our greatest concerns, because He cares for us with a love greater than we can imagine.
Imagine that every time you get worried, whether it is about school, friends, or even when something does not go as planned, you have someone to help. God is that someone! He wants us to live happily, lightly, and without anxiety.
The anxiety mentioned in these verses is one that arises where our faith finds its limit. It is the kind of worry that consumes us, making us forget God’s presence and providence. Know that God is willing to be involved in every aspect of your life, even the details we consider insignificant.
Therefore, my dear reader, entrust to Him all your concerns, for there is nothing too small or too great so as to be beyond the reach of His care. But it is only when we surrender and trust in God that we will be able to experience the full magnitude of His care.
Take Action
Take a helium balloon and write on it things that are making you worried. Then, release the balloon into the air and watch it go up, up, until it is out of sight. That is like surrendering your worries to God.
