«To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.» Jude 1:24, 25
Have you ever stumbled in public? We’ve all been there, don’t worry... The feeling of embarrassment it causes is immense! But has there ever been a time when someone caught you and prevented you from falling? I believe so! It’s a relief to know that someone is there to help us, isn’t it?
In today’s verse, Jude 1:24, it’s mentioned that God is able to keep us from stumbling. It’s like having someone always by our side, ready to catch us when we’re about to fall. And it reminds us of a wonderful psalm, Psalm 37, which says: “Though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.” What a relief to know that God is there to help us up when we stumble in life!
When we realize that God is always near us, desiring to help us, our hearts are filled with joy and our natural response is praise. That’s why Jude’s verse ends with a beautiful declaration of worship: “To the only wise God our Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forevermore. Amen.”
Take Action
This week, do a practical experiment. Find a safe place, like a soft lawn or a carpet, and practice rolling on the ground. Yes, you read that right, rolling! It’s a fun way to simulate falls and learn to get up. Remember that, just as you can get up after a fall, God is always by your side, ready to help you get up when you stumble in life.
