AND I SAW A NEW HEAVEN

«And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” » Revelation 21: 4

What is hope? Hope would be the greatest of human strengths if despair didn't exist (Victor Hugo). Hope is believing that something good is coming, even when we can't see it. Interestingly, studies show that hopeful people tend to be happier and healthier. They cope better with stress and even recover faster from illness. This is because hope gives us the strength to face challenges and believe in better days.

In the Bible, we find many promises that fill our hearts with hope. If someone we love dies, we can cling to the hope of resurrection. If we face problems in our life here on earth, we remember that God has promised a New Heaven and a New Earth, according to today's text: “Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth [...]. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

We are not limited to this life. There is a new life waiting for us, a New Heaven and a New Earth where everything will be perfect, wonderful and eternal. Hope is like a light at the end of a dark tunnel. It reminds us that, however difficult life may be, something much better awaits us. And best of all, this hope isn't just a dream; it's a promise from God! And you already know that He keeps His promises!

Take Action

Create a box of precious promises (or buy one). Every day, take a verse to read with your devotional to renew your hope.
