«He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!» Revelation 22: 20
Who doesn't like happy endings? Have you ever reached the end of a book and felt moved by the outcome? Revelation 22 is the last chapter of the Bible, and that's exactly what it is: the great happy ending of God's entire history with humanity. As the famous preacher Billy Graham said, “I've read the last page of the Bible: everything is going to work out.”
In today's chapter, we see the perfect conclusion to the whole story of the Bible. It shows the promise of Jesus' return and the description of a wonderful place. Imagine a crystal-clear river, trees with wonderful fruit and, best of all, living in the presence of God where there is no more night, pain, or sadness. It's the happy ending we've all been waiting for!
“He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming quickly.’ Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!” These words bring us incredible hope. They are a reminder that, no matter how complicated or difficult things may seem now, in the end, “everything will work out.” Jesus has promised to return, and it's not long now! So, when you feel worried or sad, remember the great happy ending that awaits us. Everything will work out in the end; if it hasn't, it's because we haven't reached the end yet. But remember: it's not long now!
Take Action
Write a letter to Jesus. Tell Him you are waiting for His return and what you're doing while you wait. You can keep the letter in a special place. Can you imagine handing it to Him in person?
