BLESSINGS AND CURSES

«And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people. » Leviticus 26: 12

In Leviticus 26, God explains how our choices can bring blessings or consequences. It's like when parents tell us to follow certain rules for our good, such as not touching dangerous things like outlets or hot stoves. They do this because they want to protect us and make sure we are safe. In the same way, God gives us clear guidelines on how to live in a way that keeps us safe and happy.

He promises to reward us for obeying with care, sufficient food, peace and protection from trouble. But if people choose not to listen to Him, He warns them that not-so-good things can happen, such as difficulties and even missing important things.

This shows us that our choices have consequences. If we choose to listen and do what is right, such as obeying our parents and God, we can be blessed and live well. But if we choose not to listen and do wrong things, disobeying, we can get into trouble and be cursed.

Take Action

Try to remember a time when you did something that your parents or God told you not to do, and what happened afterward. Share what you remember, as it will help you see how doing the right thing can bring good things into your life.
