«This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. » Joshua 1: 8
In Joshua 1:8-9, God gives Joshua very important advice: “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.” This means that Joshua should always think of God's words and live according to them. And you know what? These words were not only for Joshua, but they are also an invitation to us today. God encourages us to keep His Word always in our thoughts and actions, and to live according to His teachings.
Keeping God's words in our minds and hearts is like having a treasure hidden within us. When we memorize Bible verses, we are storing up wisdom, comfort and strength in our minds for the times when we need them the most. In times of difficulty, uncertainty or challenges, these verses we keep can pop into our mind, offering the guidance and encouragement we need. Also, as today's song reminds us, “Only then will your ways prosper and you will be successful.” What a beautiful promise, isn't it?
Take Action
Choose one Bible verse to memorize each week. It could be a verse that brings you hope, strength, comfort or wisdom. Throughout the week, practice memorizing this verse and think about how it can help you with the challenges you face daily. Over time, you'll have a collection of memorized verses to guide you through different situations in life.
