SAMUEL'S PLEA THAT REACHES US TODAY

«Only fear the Lord, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.» 1 Samuel 12: 24

Samuel was one of Israel's great leaders, a prophet who guided the people through difficult times. He was known for his wisdom, his connection to God and his commitment to serving the Lord with all his heart. At the end of his leadership, he made an appeal to the people of Israel, a call that resonates to this day: “Only fear the Lord, and serve Him in truth with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.”

Samuel's plea is a powerful reminder for us today. He calls us to recognize the wonders God has done in our lives and to serve him with dedication and genuine love. It's not just about following rules or fulfilling religious obligations, it's about having a true and deep relationship with God, where our service to Him is a natural response to His love and goodness. Living by this call means choosing every day to honor God with our words, decisions and attitudes, transforming our faith into concrete actions of love for our neighbor and dedication to God.

Take Action

How about creating a “jar of goodness”? Whenever you do something good for someone or experience a blessing from God, write it down on a piece of paper and put it in the jar. At the end of the month, open the jar and read it all to remember the many ways you can serve God and those around you by experiencing Samuel's call in your daily life.
