Three “C’s” for Success

«But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded!”» 2 Chronicles 15:7

Today's verse is part of the speech made by the prophet Azariah after King Asa's victory over the army of Zerah the Ethiopian. Through the prophet's words, God impressed the heart of the king of Judah so that he continued carrying out spiritual reforms among the people. If that happened, Asa would be successful.

Do you also want to be successful in all your endeavors? I suggest, then, that you practice three words that start with the letter “c.” The first is “commence.” A long and good journey begins with the first step. What do you need to start in your life? A course? A diet? Exercise? I suggest you immediately put your foot in the water and make it happen. Remember that no step is as important as the first. I know sometimes it is scary to start. Life presents many uncertainties and challenges.

However, you need to have the courage to lift the anchor of inertia and set out towards achieving your dreams. Jonny Anderson said, “It is better to try and fail than to fail without trying.”

The second word is “continue.” If you have already started a project and it has been good for you, do not be discouraged. Have perseverance! Do like Swiss marathon runner Gabriela Andersen who, despite being dehydrated and with severe leg cramps, remained in the race until the last second, completing the forty-two kilometers of the women's marathon at the Los Angeles Olympic Games in 1984. Even today, Andersen is remembered as a symbol of perseverance and resilience. Do not give up!

The third word is “complete.” Do you know that course you started a while ago? What about your goal of reading the entire Bible in a set time? Why not complete these projects? God will give you the strength you need to complete what you dreamed of so much. After all, He is an expert in performing the three “c’s”! The Bible says, “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Phil 1:6).

Commence, continue and complete. Simple, is it not? King Asa followed this plan and became one of the best kings of Judah. If he could do it, you can do it too. Start now!
