«Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy.» Psalm 126:5
Sowing seeds on the earth requires faith and perseverance. In a way, sowing is like giving up the concrete and visible and waiting for the invisible. How many people sowed and did not reap? How many have seen the seeds sown in the ground being devoured by difficulties and injustice, or buried by the indifference and ignorance of others?
When this happens, there is a feeling of defeat, of wasted time and, who knows, of regret. Do not fool yourself. Anyone who goes through situations like these does not become a loser. If you persevere, you will learn to overcome adverse situations and obstacles.
In 1963, an archaeological find in the Judean desert, southern Israel, revealed the unlikely. Excavations conducted in the ancient fortress of King Herod, in Masada, near the Dead Sea, led to the discovery of ancient seeds, from the time of Christ, which were buried for centuries.
They looked dead, and archaeologists did not know if they would still germinate. Few seeds can survive for so long. After being stored in a research center for some time, Israeli researchers decided to assess their germination capacity. Even though they were stored for more than 2,000 years, some germinated and turned into lush date palms.
Sowing can be worrying and requires faith. For the one who sows, the risk of losing everything he invest-ed is real. However, if you do not take these risks, the harvest will never be possible. Only those who sow reap, and no one reaps what they did not sow.
If you want to be a better person, invest in your future, develop your character, have a safe and happy tomorrow, start sowing good things in the soil of life. Do not worry about time. Look ahead and have an improvement project. Do not settle for bad situations. Sow hope in life, trust in the power of God and do not give up on your dreams. At the right time, these seeds will germinate and produce fruits of blessing for you.
Do not worry if someone thinks that is crazy what you are doing. Do not miss your goal. Just sow the seeds in the soil of life and cultivate what you have sown. Put your dreams in God’s hands, trust Him, and allow Him to operate the plans He has for you.
