The Victory of Good

«He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.» Ecclesiastes 3:11

Making decisions is not always easy. The forces of good and evil are trying all the time to influence our decisions. While good seeks to bring us closer to God, evil tries to keep us away from Him. Good strives to lead us to salvation, evil plays dirty to lead us to eternal perdition.

Were it not for divine mercy, only evil would influence our attitudes, as we have a natural inclination towards sin (Gen 8:21). In Christ, however, we have the blessing of having eternity in our hearts. There is in each of us a space that only God can fill. However, the enemy wants to occupy that place and does everything to make us open the door for him. Unfortunately, many people have given evil this terrible authorization. If this were everyone's reality, the human race would destroy itself in a brief time.

Thank God for His plan of salvation! Justified in Jesus, His nature is born in our lives. If we nourish it day by day, it will supplant our sinful tendencies and prepare us for the Lord's return, when we will be transformed in the blink of an eye and we will be definitively free from sin.

A certain young man was threatening to throw himself from the top of a building. As he gathered the courage to jump, a crowd grouped at the bottom and tried to dissuade him from this madness. After several attempts, someone had the brilliant idea of singing. The crowd joined in, loudly singing the chorus that said: “You are precious, rarer than the pure gold of Ophir. If you gave up, God will not give up. He is here to lift you up if the world makes you fall.” As a result, a miracle happened that day! These verses touched that young man's heart and gave him strength to resist the voice of evil that was urging him to take his own life. Thank God, good overcame evil.

The struggle of these opposing forces is a constant in the Christian’s life. Every time you have thoughts that compel you to make wrong decisions, be aware that it is an evil temptation. The best decision is to resist and remain on the side of good. “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you” (James 4:7). May good always win in your life!
